Transition is the process of moving from one thing to another, right?
When we think about moving to what's next, it is important for us to know where we're headed so we can figure out what we will need to get there safely and with the least amount of hassle.
Pretty straightforward, right?
Not so for many students and their families simply trying to figure out what lies ahead for them beyond high school graduation.
The destination is not often clear, and without knowing that, how then are they to figure a way to get there? So, what do they do and more importantly, who do they look to as a guide?
The NJ Youth Transition Conference (NJ YTC) was inspired by a student who was not clear, and not informed about the possibilities of her future after high school. Her potential, her future was at risk simply because the process to help her plan was not honored. The NJ YTC seeks to disrupt that and to make sure students, their families, teachers and other school professionals have access to information, resources and services available to young adults.
We hope the NJ YTC serves as a road map for you as someone looking toward your future, and needing some guidance on the possible ways to get there, as smoothly and as safely.
NJ YTC's goal is yours: take the path of your choosing to arrive at the future you want for yourself or your family member.
